After School Program
Tulsa YouthWorks
2023-24 After School Program is here!
YouthWorks’ after school program empowers Tulsa area teenagers and college students to bless and encourage North Tulsa elementary school children from low income homes who are in kindergarten to 5th grade to:
1) Know they are loved.
2) See that someone believes in them and their life dreams.
3) Help them learn how to read and serve others.
4) Buddy up with them on the after school activities.
The after school program is each Monday through Thursday, 2 PM to 5 PM from September 6, 2023, to April 25, 2024, and provides the kids and volunteers for snacks and dinner every day.
Teens and college students buddy up with the kids to achieve the above goals while participating in these activities:
🍕 YouthWorks Pizza Factory — making pizzas with the kids to serve to homeless men and women and to bring home pizzas for their own families)
🚴 Bike Trail — riding bikes with the kids to help them exercise, and then together learn how to make bike repairs when needed.
🥕 Winnie the Pooh Gardens — growing fruits and vegetables with the kids in outdoor gardens and indoor hydroponic/aquaponic greenhouses to serve to North Tulsa adults to help prevent and reverse type two diabetes and high blood pressure.
🔨 Trade Town — learning carpentry and other valuable trade skills with the kids while building ranch structures, practical household items, and gifts for others.
🧵 Sew into Serving — sewing with the kids to make pillowcases and winter hats for the homeless.
